Simple and straightforward to build but...
I'm bought the WRP C-06 chassis kit for Factory Stock class racing which requires spec chassis' and it was on the list. For $9.95 you know you're getting a basic kit and that's what the C-06 is. However, no matter how little you pay you don't expect a major component of a kit to be defective. The motor box in my kit was not square by any means. No amount of trying to straighten it was going to make it any better either because of where the mistake was made when it was manufactured by WRP. So I ended up with one body mount arm a little lower then the other. Not that big a deal really as I don't use pin tubes for bodies and because I built the chassis in a PSC jig with their set up blocks which left me with axles, guide flag and main chassis rails all square and where they should be. It's actually a nice chassis and went together very easily and looks good on a setup board. A couple of things I made that maybe weren't required but I felt the need. First was a brace for the front axle support/axle just because there wasn't much surface area for the solder to grab hold of to attach it to the guide flag plate. I also made a cross brace for the chassis rails to go behind the crown gear and join up with the body mount ears at the pin tube slots just to stiffen the motor box a little more. Now in fairness I have say that I contacted WRP about the warped motor box and they've shipped out a replacement motor box. Because the kit is pretty basic I won't be a big deal pulling the defective piece out and putting the new one in. I have 2 more of these kits on the way from PCH so here's hoping they're all bent square and turn out as nice as this did (will be)!
